Dr. Eluemuno Blyden

Dr. Eluemuno Blyden is a visionary scientist and entrepreneur who received his PhD in plant biotechnology from Cambridge University, UK, and has worked internationally in industry, academia and government. His passion is development and how new technologies can be applied in innovative ways informed by local culture and know-how. He was a winner of the 2007 Sustaining Entrepreneurs for Environment and Development ( SEED) Initiative Award for an integrated tourism/traditional medicine/forest conservation project in W. Africa. He is the founder and manager of Vertical Home Gardens LLC, a start-up company in Oakland, CA that manufactures the Phytopod line of vertical gardening products. He has three children.
